Ingredients

  • Salt, 3 Teaspoon
  • All-Purpose Flour, 4 ½ Cups
  • Melted Butter, ½ Cup
  • Honey, 3 Teaspoons
  • Water, 2 Cups
  • Beaten Egg, 1

Instructions

Step 1:

Organize all the ingredients separately on the table so you can easily access them when needed.

Step 2:

Grease lightly the baking sheet and preheat your oven to 350 F.

Step 3:

Mix the all-purpose flour and salt together in a large mixing bowl.

Step 4:

Now, prepare the water and honey mixture in a separate bowl, shake them well, and ensure that the honey is properly dissolved in the water.

Step 5:

Add the water and honey mixture to the flour mixtures and add 1/4 cups of melted butter to the mixtures. Mix well until you get a sticky dough.

Step 6:

Start stirring the dough with the remaining butter and set it aside for later. As the dough rests, it will become softer. Spread some flour on a flat table, or dish, and then place the stuffed dough on top of it. Then knead the dough for 10 minutes with your hands on a floured surface.

Step 7:

Divide the stiff but smooth dough into four equal pieces and then shape each one into a round. Bake the loaves on a greased baking sheet. Brush the loaves with butter to make them creamy.

Step 8:

The pieces should be baked for 45 minutes in a preheated oven, with butter baste every 15 minutes on top of the loaves.

Step 9:

After 45 minutes, brush the tops of the loaves with beaten egg and bake for another 15 minutes. When you see the loaves becoming rich golden brown, turn off the oven and remove them.

Step 10:

For serving in church communion, it is a good idea to break the large pieces into smaller pieces before serving.
