Jambalaya is a Louisiana dish that is traditionally made with chicken, sausage, shrimp, and often vegetables. It is usually served over rice or with lemon wedges and green onion. This classic Louisiana dish is a perfect blend of flavors and spices. 

Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil, 2 tablespoons
  • Cajun seasoning, 1 tablespoon 
  • Shrimp (veins and shells are removed), 1 pound
  • 10 oz sausages
  • Chicken breast (boneless and skinless), 1 pound
  • 2 celery stalks (diced)
  • 20 oz Tomatoes (crushed)
  • 1 green bell pepper (diced)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 red onion (diced)
  • Red pepper flakes, 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Ground black pepper, 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Salt, 1 tablespoon 
  • Paprika, 1 tablespoon 
  • Hot pepper sauce, 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons
  • White long-grain rice, 1/4 cup
  • Chicken broth, 1 cup 

For Cajun Seasoning

  • Salt, 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Garlic powder, 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Paprika powder, 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Freshly ground black pepper, 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Onion powder, 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Cayenne pepper, 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Dried oregano, 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Dried thyme, 1/2 tablespoon 
  • Red pepper flakes, 1/2 tablespoon 

For Serving

  • 1 Lemon wedge
  • Green onion sliced, 1 tablespoon 

Step By Step Instructions To Make Bubba Gump Jambalaya

Step 1

Put the sausage in a large bowl and then add the shrimp and chicken pieces to it.

Step 2

Mix the Cajun seasoning into the bowl mixture and season well.

Step 3

Allow the mixture to settle for a while.

Step 4

Heat some oil in a pan at medium heat and cook the chopped onion, bell pepper, garlic, and celery in this heated oil.

Step 5

Add the red pepper flakes after briefly frying the vegetables. Squeeze in the hot pepper sauce and sprinkle the black pepper and paprika.

Step 6

Stir in Worcestershire sauce and saute the mixture.

Step 7

Add the chicken and shrimp mixture and saute the mixture together.

Step 8

Place the crushed tomatoes in the mixture after pouring the chicken broth, stirring well to combine.

Step 9

On the stovetop, cook the rice for half an hour and wait until it’s completely done.

Step 10

Prepare and serve hot, garnished with thinly sliced green onions and lemon wedges.
