This is a subway cranberry mustard recipe that is perfect for the holidays. To make this mustard, you need a food processor, a bowl, a bit of cranberry juice, and a small amount of Dijon mustard. Plus, you can spice things up by adding a few cloves of garlic.

How To Make Subway Cranberry Mustard

This mustard recipe will help you to enjoy a delicious, savory side dish at the end of your meal. I had this for my family holiday meal today and loved it. This is a great recipe for people who like mustard, but don’t like having to tear off the paper wrapper or get their hands dirty!

Ingredients

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 2 tablespoon
  • Unsalted Butter, 1 tablespoon
  • 1 Large Red Onion (Thinly Sliced)
  • Fresh Cranberries, 1 Lb
  • Sugar, 1/4 Cup
  • Honey, 1/3 Cup
  • Mustard Seeds (Finely Cracked), 2 Tablespoon
  • Balsamic Vinegar, 2 tablespoon
  • Dijon Mustard, 3 tablespoon
  • Kosher Salt, ½ teaspoon
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper, ¼ teaspoon

Instructions

Step 1

In a medium skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. Stir until melted.

Step 2

Stir 1/4 cup of sliced onion until it browns and gets soft. It should take 20 to 25 minutes. Take it off the heat and set it aside. 

Step 3

Pour 1 cup of water into a large saucepot and bring it to a boil. Add 1 pound of fresh cranberries, 1 1/4 cups of sugar, and 1/3 cup of honey. 

Step 4

Let them simmer for 5 minutes or until all the cranberries are finely popped. 

Step 5

Mix 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard, 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, 2 tablespoons finely cracked mustard seed. Cook them for an additional 5 minutes until the juice is thick and glazed over the berries. 

Step 6

Place dressing in a food processor and process until pureed for six minutes. Add 1/4 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper and 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt to taste.
