For a long time, I have been a vegetarian. I’ve never been a vegetarian because it’s pretty hard to convince yourself that some animal products are healthy. When I first started cooking at home, I was a vegetarian for a few years. I tried a lot of new things and everything was delicious, but it wasn’t enough to make me switch from being a vegetarian to being a carnivore. So, I decided to try making lasagna.
Today I’m going to share a Classic Lasagna Recipe that can be made from scratch. There’s nothing more satisfying than a well-made lasagna. It’s a dish that tastes great when well done, but requires a little effort in the preparation. In this recipe, I’m going to show you how to cheaply and easily make a lasagna that comes out just as good as the restaurant versions. I’ll also be showing you how to create a lasagna using a florentine and casserole-style sammich, and how to make a delicious chicken filling.
While everyone loves the joys of cooking, it’s often not the easiest thing to do. It doesn’t matter how fantastic your recipe is, if you can’t make it, you know it. If you want to learn how to make the perfect lasagna, then I’ve got just the thing for you. This is a foolproof recipe that anyone can follow. However, this recipe is the same as the one that I usually make for my own cooking classes.
How to make a Classic Lasagna
If you love lasagna as much as we do, you’ll want to learn everything you need to know to make the best lasagna. This is an easy recipe, and it takes about as much time as it takes to cook. While this recipe might not be as quick as the family-sized meals we all love, we’re sure that it will be just as tasty!
- Water, 1/2 cup
- Crushed Tomatoes, 2 (15 ounces) cans
- Diced Tomatoes Basil, Garlic & Oregano 14.5 oz, 2 (14.5 ounces) cans
- Salt to taste
- Lean ground beef, Italian sausage or ground turkey, 1 pound (cooked and drained)
- Traditional lasagna noodles, 1 (16 ounce) box (uncooked)
- Low-fat ricotta cheese, 1 (15 ounces) carton
- Shredded mozzarella cheese, 3 cups
- Grated Parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup
The oven should be preheated to 350°F. Mix water, crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, salt, and ground beef together in a large bowl.
1½ cups of the sauce mixture should cover the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking pan. Arrange 1/3 of noodles on top of the sauce, slightly overlapped. Put 1 cup of sauce, 1 cup of ricotta cheese, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top. Repeat layers and top with remaining sauce and 1/3 of noodles. Garnish with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
Cook the noodles for 1 to 1½ hours, covered tightly with foil. Let them stand for 10 minutes before serving.
You can divide the recipe into two 9×9 inch baking dishes and freeze one for an easy weeknight dinner.
