Copeland’s Crawfish Bread Recipe
There are a million and one reasons to love crawfish. It’s a delicious Louisiana delicacy, there is a fresh and gorgeous crust to it, and it’s easy enough to cook. However, if you’re like most people, you probably don’t know how to cook crawfish. So, this recipe is designed to walk you through the science and art of making a great crawfish gumbo recipe.
Today we’re going to look at Copeland’s Crawfish Bread Recipe. This is one of my personal favorite foods. I remember when I first started cooking from scratch, we had a pretty boring, canned food pantry. As time passed by and I started to learn more about cooking, I became fascinated by some of the different things I could make. What I liked about crawfish was that it was something that was easy to cook and it was a very quick and easy food to handle.
Crawfish bread is a classic Louisiana recipe. It’s a bread that is not only delicious but it’s made with fresh Louisiana crawfish. Crawfish bread is a bread that can be made with just about any type of bread. While you can make it with anything, a traditional Louisiana crawfish bread recipe (and this one is a Louisiana recipe) uses a quick bread formula. The bread dough is risen in the oven and then cranked out onto a baking sheet once it has been cooked.
Crawfish is delicious, popular seafood that originates in Louisiana, France, and the rest of the US. It’s popular because it can be found anywhere in the world and it’s one of the foods that are much easier to prepare than chicken. In French cuisine, crawfish is known as crottes de poulet (pronounced kuh-tuh) or “chicken” bread. It’s a light, delicious bread that’s a good source of protein.
How to make Copeland’s Crawfish Bread Recipe
This is a delicious and simple recipe for crawfish bread. You can also use it as a side dish to your gumbo or red beans and rice. This is a very simple recipe that can be made with a week’s worth of ingredients. In this recipe, you will need Louisiana crawfish, French bread, bell pepper, butter or margarine, and more.
Ingredients
- Crawfish, 1 pound
- Butter or margarine, 2 tablespoons (for frying)
- Melted butter, 1 stick
- Honey, 2 tablespoons
- chopped onion, 1/2 cup
- Green bell pepper (chopped), 1
- green onions (minced), 1/2 cup
- Garlic, 4/5 cloves
- kosher salt, 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon
- Mayo, 2 cups
- Provolone cheese, 3 ounces
- Mozzarella cheese, 3 ounces
- Cheddar cheese, 3 ounces
- French bread, 2 loaves (cut in half)
Instructions
Step 1
Add 2 tbsp of margarine to a frying pan over medium-high heat. Margarine is healthier than butter, as we all know. You can also use butter if you prefer.
Step 2
Once the margarine is almost melted, add 1/2 cup of chopped onion and chopped green bell pepper, and sauté for 5 minutes or until wilted.
Step 3
Then, you need to add the 1/2 green onions, since they are slightly softer than regular onions, and the garlic cloves. You can smell the garlic butter odor this time, which is my favorite. Let the mixture cook and stir for 3 minutes.
Step 4
Add the crawfish to the vegetable mixture and season with salt and black pepper. Put the frying pan on a low heat now, cover it, and cook for ten minutes.
Step 5
In a small bowl, combine two tablespoons of honey and one stick of melted butter. Combine the ingredients and set them aside.
Step 6
After 10 minutes, add 11/2 cups of mayo to the cooked crawfish. Next, add the three types of cheese. Before adding the cheeses, slice them evenly with a cheese grater.
Step 7
The mayo-cheese mixed crawfish should now be spread over the French bread. Spread it evenly on each half of the French bread.
Step 8
Place the bread on the baking sheet, and then brush it with the honey-butter mixture.
Step 9
Place the baking sheet in the oven at 250 degrees F. Set the timer for 15 minutes. The baking sheet will begin to smell amazing after 15 minutes.
