Ingredients
  

  • 4 tablespoons Fresh basil (roughly chopped)
  • 8 oz  Spaghetti (cooked, cooled)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 oz Tomatoes (canned, diced)
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 4 oz button Mushrooms (canned, drained, sliced)
  • Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Cayenne pepper
To serve:
  • Basil leaves (fresh, torn)
  • Parmesan cheese (grated or powdered)
  • Garlic bread

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine basil and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Place aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat the remaining olive oil and saute garlic for 1 minute.
  • Stir in the mushrooms and cook for a few minutes.
  • Then, add basil sauce, cayenne, and tomatoes. Saute for a few minutes.
  • Turn down the heat to low and simmer for about five minutes until slightly reduced.
  • Toss the pasta into the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Depending on your taste, adjust the seasoning.
  • Add parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves to the pasta. Served with garlic bread.
  • Enjoy your meal!
