FAQs

Which fruits work with Jello?

Apples, plums, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, peaches, and oranges are perfect fruits for jello. However, I recommend not to use a few fresh fruits that cause problems. No doubt bananas contain actinidin enzymes but this minor amount is not problematic at all.

Is Jello with fruit healthy?

Jello is not healthy at all because of the presence of high sugar and low protein and fiber. But when jello comes with fruit, it becomes a better option than simple jello.

Can I add additional ingredients to the Jello with a fruit cocktail?

Well, you can add additional ingredients to jello with a fruit cocktail. But I usually don’t recommend adding the ingredients that change their color, texture, and taste on gelatin solidification.

Can I use sugar-free gelatin?

Yes, you can use sugar-free gelatin for diabetic patients. Sugar-free gelatin doesn’t have sugar so it will not affect glucose level. But keep in mind that gelatin contains some natural sweeteners. It means using sugar-free gelatin doesn’t assure that your jello is also sugar-free.
