Haitian cuisine is a beautiful blend of different cuisines from all around the globe and it has some of the very sweet and enjoyable recipes. Haitian patties are one of them. Filled with juicy and flavorful ground beef, that has been cooked with simple yet rich ingredients, the Haitian patties offer you a unique goodness.
First things first, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Meanwhile, get the egg wash prepared and place it aside.
In a skillet, add the ground beef, salt, pepper, mixed peppers, and diced onion, better than bouillon base and Haitian seasoning. Mix them and cook for 3 minutes on a medium-low flame. There is no need to cover the skillet at this step.
When cooked, take out the beef mixture and place it in a bowl.
Take the puff pastry, either homemade or store-bought, and cut it into even pieces. Then load the middle of the pastry with the mixture of cooked ground beef. 1 tbsp per pastry is enough.
With the help of a pastry brush, apply the egg wash and seal the pastry from the edges. Then fold the moistened edge over. Finally, press down the edges using a fork.
Transfer the pastries to the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until they turn golden brown. Take out and serve. Haitian Patties are ready. Bon Appetit!
