1teaspoonsmoked paprika or more to taste
1teaspoongarlic powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
Spicy red pepper flakes optional
16slicesbacon or use 8 slices cut in half for smaller poppers
Instructions
Set your smoker to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Scoop out the insides of the jalapeno peppers by cutting them in half lengthwise.
Cream cheese, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and red chili flakes should be combined in a bowl with the cream cheese (+ cheddar cheese, if using).
Make a spicy cheese mixture and fill each jalapeno pepper in half. Your peppers may have leftovers, depending on their size. You just need to distribute it evenly.
Place a slice of bacon on top of each stuffed jalapeno boat. Place toothpicks into the bacon to hold it in place.
For calorie savings, use half a bacon slice with smaller peppers.
Put the poppers into the smoker for 60-80 minutes until they are softened and the bacon is starting to crisp, then sprinkle with extra smoked paprika and red pepper flakes. In the end, you can broil them for a few minutes.
Serve after being removed from the heat and cooled slightly.
