To make fish tacos, you’ll need a Halibut Fillet, Tortillas, Green Cabbage, a little red sauce, and a little of your favorite substitution for tomato sauce or salsa.
1poundHalibut Fillet (skin removed or another white fish fillet)
¼cupEnglish Cucumber (chopped)
½bunchCilantro (chopped)
¼cupWhite Onion (chopped)
10Corn Tortillas (warmed)
¼Green Cabbage
1Lemon (juiced)
1tablespoonOlive Oil
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
Guacamole (for serving)
Salsa (for serving)
Instructions
Combine cabbage, onions, cucumber, and cilantro in a medium mixing bowl. Sprinkle salt and pepper over this mixture and squeeze a lemon over it. Combine them well. Before making the tacos, let them sit for 30 minutes.
Using a non-stick oven-proof pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Place the halibut fillet in the pan and brown it on one side. Afterward, turn the fillet over and preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. In the oven, cook it for about 30 minutes.
Place cabbage slaw on warm tortillas. Spread some guacamole over the cabbage slaw and top it with a fish slice. Top with salsa and place in a taco holder.
