Cookies are probably one of the most popular treats in the world. It was only a matter of time before the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe was created, and that’s exactly what I’m here to share with you today. This recipe is not just a good The Worst Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe; it’s also a good cookie recipe in general.
1cup (226g) Unsalted buttermelted and then cooled for at least 5 minutes
1 ½cups (300g)Light brown sugar (packed)
½cup (100g)Granulated sugar
2Large eggs(room temperature preferred)
1teaspoonVanilla extract
¼cup (60ml)Maple syrup
3 ¼cups (415g)All-purpose flour,
2teaspoonsCornstarch
1teaspoonBaking powder
1teaspoonBaking soda
1teaspoonSalt
2cupsChocolate chips
Instructions
Melt butter and sugar together in a large bowl.
The eggs should be added one at a time, stirring well after each addition.
Mix in vanilla extract and maple syrup.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until fully incorporated.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Cover the bowl with clear wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes (chilling? This recipe is the worst ever.)
When the dough has chilled, preheat the oven to 350F (175C) and line cookie sheets with parchment paper (if you don't have parchment paper, you can bake directly on a cookie sheet without grease).
The cookie dough should be scooped up between 2 -2 ½ tablespoons and rolled into a ball, slightly taller than wide. On the prepared cookie sheet, place them at least 2 inches apart.
Bake the cookies for about 13 minutes (they may appear underdone, but the edges will just begin to turn golden brown).
On a cookie sheet, allow cookies to cool completely. Place a few chocolate chips on top of the hot cookies, if desired.
Keep unbaked cookie dough in the fridge before baking the next batch, and do not place hot cookie sheets on the dough.
