German Pickled Watermelon Recipe

This recipe calls for about ¼ cup of pickling salt, 2 cups of sugar, and fresh watermelon as needed. This is a very easy recipe and everyone can enjoy it.A good way to serve up a pickled watermelon is with some homemade ranch dressing, spread over sushi.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 quart water
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1⁄4 cup salt
  • fresh dill
  • fresh watermelon, as needed (de-seeded)

Instructions
 

  • To boil, bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Fill a mason jar halfway with pink watermelon pieces and add a few dill sprigs.
  • On top, place some more dill sprigs.
  • Over the watermelons, pour the hot, boiled mixture and seal with steam.
  • Make sure the food is refrigerated overnight, and eat it cold.
