Olive Garden Giant Cheese Stuffed Shells Recipe (Copycat)

You can serve your delicious stuffed shells with pasta or combined with some good, old-fashioned tomato soup. These stuffed shells are stuffed with tender, juicy meatballs and fresh mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients
  

  • 16 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 (15 oz) jar marinara sauce
FOR THE FILLING:
  • 15 oz ricotta
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
FOR THE BREADCRUMBS:
  • 1/3 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon butter
FOR THE ALFREDO SAUCE:
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan, grated
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

  • Spray a nonstick baking pan 8x8 inches with nonstick spray and preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Prepare shells according to package directions. Set aside after draining and rinsing with cool water.
  • Prepare the filling by mixing together the ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, basil, oregano, and garlic in a medium bowl. With salt and pepper, season to taste.In a shallow pan, spread 1 cup of marinara.
  • Place shells over marinara in a baking pan and fill each with 2 tablespoons of filling. Cook for 20 minutes under tightly covered aluminum foil.
  • In the meantime, prepare the sauces and breadcrumbs.
  • Put 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet and melt it. Stir in breadcrumbs and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Set aside in a bowl after removing from the skillet.
  • Prepare Alfredo sauce 5 minutes before shells are done baking.
  • Melt the six tablespoons of butter in the same skillet. Cook for 1 minute after adding garlic. Incorporate Parmesan, mozzarella, and whipping cream. Stir sauce until smooth after seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Serve Alfredo sauce over and around the shells after removing them from the oven. Over the top, spoon a little more marinara. Place breadcrumbs on top and return to the oven. 2-3 minutes on high broil. Chill!
