Ingredients
  

  • teaspoon Vegetable oil
  • pound Kielbasa sausage (cut into 1-inch pieces)
  • onion, chopped
  • 1 ⅔ cups Chicken broth
  • (20 ounces) cans Turnip greens
  • (14.5 ounces) cans Great Northern beans (rinsed and drained)
  • package Vegetable soup mix (such as Knorr's®)
  • teaspoon Hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
  • teaspoon Garlic powder
  • pinch Creole seasoning (such as Tony Chachere's®), or to taste
  • Salt and ground black pepper (to taste)

Instructions
 

  • On medium heat, heat oil in a skillet. Cook and stir the kielbasa and onion in the hot oil until the onion is tender about five to seven minutes; set aside.
  • In a large saucepan, combine chicken broth, turnip greens, great Northern beans, vegetable soup mix, hot pepper sauce, garlic powder, Creole seasoning, salt, and black pepper. 
  • Add the kielbasa mixture to the boiling broth mixture, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for two hours.
