Like any other bakery product, the making process of these biscuits is no exception. You have to make the dough. Cut it into round biscuits.Preheat the oven and bake the biscuits until they are golden.
Take a large bowl and sieve the powdered sugar, baking powder, and self-rising flour into it. Mix the three of them well together.
Add the shortening into the bowl with the flour mixture. Then stir until all of them become one and a ragged breadcrumbs-like mixture has been obtained.
Add the buttermilk to the mixture in small portions. Mix them well until the mixture starts to become sticky.
Wash and dry your hands and then give some good squeezes to your mixture with your hands so that no flour remains dry and everything is mixed for sure.
Make a giant ball of dough and roll it thick on a floured counter. Cut the rolled dough to the desired size using a cookie cutter.
Line the baking tray with a baking sheet and place the biscuit dough in it at an appropriate amount of distance to avoid any sticking or breaking.
Bake the biscuits for 10 minutes in the oven or until they have become golden.
When done, take them out of the oven and place them in the serving dish. Then brush them with melted butter and serve. Bon Appetit!
