Stewed Potatoes Recipe

The potatoes are cooked in a flavorful broth, making them extra savory and delicious. You can add your favorite vegetables to the mix, or keep it simple with just potatoes and broth. They’re also well paired with a cheese sauce or even my favorite, spaghetti sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 or 7 medium-sized potatoes peeled and cut into chunks (you can use any kind of potatoes)
  • Water enough to just cover the potatoes in the pot
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoons bacon drippings
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Cover the potatoes with water, and add the chopped onion, butter, bacon drippings, salt, and pepper. 
  • To prevent the potatoes from sticking to the pot, bring the water to a boil while stirring constantly.
  • Bring potatoes to a low boil and cook until they are tender and thickened to your liking. While cooking, stir often. It makes about six servings.
