The main ingredients in this recipe are mozzarella cheese and a chicken breast that has been stuffed with mozzarella cheese. We love this recipe because it’s very simple to put together, and the result is tasty moist chicken.
Create a pocket for the stuffing by horizontally slicing each chicken breast halfway through.
Stir salt, dried basil, dried oregano, pepper, and garlic powder together in a small bowl. Season your chicken top and bottom with the seasoning mixture.
Add the mozzarella cheese to the chicken breasts and stuff them carefully. A toothpick can be used to secure the chicken if it looks overfilled.
Adding oil to a large skillet and heating it to medium-high heat is the first step.
Once the chicken breasts are hot, carefully add the stuffed chicken breasts. Sauté for 4 minutes or until golden brown on the side touching the pan. Once the second side is golden brown, flip the chicken and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes.
Add salt, pepper, dried oregano, garlic, crushed tomatoes, and crushed tomatoes to a medium bowl and stir to combine.
Reduce the heat to medium. In the spaces surrounding the chicken, add the tomato sauce. For an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through, cover and simmer. If the chicken is cooked to 165°F (74°C), the middle shouldn't be pink. Salt or black pepper can be added if necessary.
