Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls Recipe

Cheesesteak Egg Rolls aren’t just delicious, they’re also very healthy because they are made with lean meat and low-fat cheese which makes them a good option when you want to eat something light. They look great when served alongside green chile or sweet chili sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 1/2 cup onion chopped
  • 1 pound boneless rib eye steak sliced or coarsely chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • oil for frying
  • ranch for dipping optional

Instructions

  • Put half the butter in a large pan and melt it over medium heat. When the peppers and onions are soft, add them to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Keep the vegetables warm by removing them from the pan and covering them.
  • Add the rib eye to the pan with the remaining half of the butter. To taste, sprinkle salt and pepper on top.
  • Depending on the thickness of the steak, it will take 3-4 minutes to brown and just cook through.
  • With the steak still in the pan, place the peppers and onions back in.
Half a slice of cheese should be placed in the center of each egg roll wrapper.
  • Fill each egg roll wrapper with approximately 2-3 tablespoons of steak filling.
  • Fold the wrappers according to the package directions, using water to seal the edges.
  • Oil should be poured into a deep pan with a depth of 2-3 inches. 350 degrees Fahrenheit is the recommended temperature for the oil.
  • For approximately 3-5 minutes, fry 3-4 egg rolls at a time, turning occasionally.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauce after draining on paper towels.
