4 chicken breast, boneless and skinless, halved 1/4 cup Italian Seasoning 2 whole eggs, beaten 2 cups marinara sauce 4 slices provolone cheese 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground 1/2 cup bread crumbs 1/2 cup flour 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated 1/2 vegetable oil fresh basil, thinly sliced for garnish
Take a meat mallet and pound the chicken until it is half an inch thick.
Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the chicken.
In one bowl, place the flour, and in another, beat the eggs. Combine the Italian seasoning and bread crumbs in another bowl.
Dredge your chicken in flour and shake off the excess. Then dip it in the egg and coat it with the bread crumbs.
Heat the oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet.
Cook the chicken for five minutes on each side or until it is well browned.
Set aside the chicken from the skillet. Add marinara sauce to the skillet, bring to a boil, and lower the heat.
Put the chicken back in the skillet and sprinkle it with mozzarella cheese.
Allow it to cook for three minutes or until the cheese has melted.
Serve with basil and parmesan cheese. Enjoy your chicken parmesan with some pasta!
